I’m with Marvin on this one, and I’ve certainly not got a dog in
this fight, completely neutral, I detest Chelsea and Brentford
😜
It’s just basic common sense for me, if a player is in an
offside position in the middle of the six yard box, and attempts
to play the ball, he will undoubtedly have an affect on the
defenders movements. I genuinely cant see the opposite side of
the coin on this one, it seems very cut and dried. Higher
qualified folk than me quite clearly disagree, but I’m
struggling with this one, that is offside every time.

This goal was featured on the Mic'd Up show and what it revealed
was that the VAR didn't even consider the position and actions
of Ouattara. It literally wasn't referenced or checked. They
were only concerned at whether the scorer was offside, and who
had the original flick on.
So the VAR missed a KMI - regardless of what decision he might
ultimately have come to, he simply didn't check whether a player
in a clear offside position was interfering.
Webb and Owen then discussed whether Ouattara was interfering,
but this was pure gaslighting as their discussion is exactly the
one that the VAR should have been having with the ref, but this
simply didn't happen.
