I would make Tierney or Dean the clear favourites for
Championship play-off final, with Tierney the most likely in my
view (although I think Dean has had the better season but fact
he's had it 3 times already might be taken into account.)
I know some have mentioned Jon Moss but he's done the League Cup
this season already and I can't think of a recent time where
someone has done both that and the Championship play-off final
       in the same season.
I believe Michael Oliver is involved in U20 World Cup so he is
       out.
I think we can rule out Scott, Pawson, Kavanagh and Taylor as
they had the semis, and additionally probably the Fourth
Officials so Hooper, Cotte, Mason and Friend.
East has retired. I think Probert and Attwell are unlikely
(Probert might be a possibility for Fourth Official - Atwell
only did Villa at Leeds quite recently). Marriner won't get it
because Villa are involved. I guess Atkinson could be a late
contender considering Leeds have missed out but I'd have thought
they'd already have an idea before the semis.

I would agree with your assessments Readingref although I
wouldn't rule out Pawson or Moss at this stage. It seems that
Mike Dean will be carrying on for one more season (at least) and
I think he will bow out with a fourth and final Championship
Playoff Final, so not this season perhaps.

I remember your list from the late 90s/early 2000s used to have
many examples of referees officiating both a semi-final and a
final in the same division but I can't recall it happening in
the last 10 years - I'd be very surprised if it was Pawson,
especially as he had a relatively poor game anyway. I doubt
Derby would be too thrilled to see him!
I think that both the League Cup and the Championship play-off
final are Football League appointments? It seems unlikely to me
that Moss would get two such appointments in the same season but
perhaps there is a small chance.

I think Atkinson will get it. I cant recall him doing it before
and two Midlands teams give him the prefect chance this season.

He did do it in 2013 between Watford and Palace.

Atkinson did Crystal Palace vs Watford back in 2013

I would agree Atkinson is a contender, however I think Tierney
may well be in with a shout, he had a few good games toward the
       end of the season.
Moss would be an "interesting" choice.

Presumably if the EFL think they need to have an Elite referee
on the Semi Final then Michael Oliver muse be the favourite for
       the Final?

Yes, I was there to see him and he had a good game. Winning goal
came c/o a Zaha-induced penalty. Some things never change ;D
Nothing to stop Atko refereeing the Final again. Michael Oliver
is apparently elsewhere and not available to referee the Final
       this season.

I believe he is officiating at the U20 World Cup.
