It was always a mystery to me why Terry Heilbron, who was a very
good referee and obviously extremely highly regarded as his
appointments attest, never got on the PL list of referees.
Perhaps someones knows for sure why.

Darren Bond and Rob Jones have both been appointed to Sunderland
games this week so perhaps that will impact/limit their
involvement with the L1 play-offs.

There's obviously still the title race in the Premier League but
apart from that everything else is pretty much settled so there
could be a chance to have some more of the better performers in
the Championship play-offs hopefully.
That said, Atkinson and Marriner are presumably ruled out
because of Leeds/Villa being there and I would guess Oliver will
be on one of the title deciding games (probably Man City) so not
sure who will be used.

Darren Bond has always been one who I have been very impressed
with. along with Pawson and Robinson and Jones they have been
the best I have seen at Elland Road this season

I have updated the database with details of this year's
semi-finals appointments, finals to follow. I have also updated
the database to cover the whole of the century thus far. Details
from 1999/2000 to 2003/4 are below. Mike Dean - as the only
'survivor' on the list - is in bold. Interesting perhaps that in
those days, a small group of referees tended to officiate at all
the semi-finals on a rotation basis, with (presumably) the top
three then going on to referee the finals that year.
I will provide a final update after this year's games have been
played.
