There have been cases before where referees have got successive
League 1 play-off finals - I think Andy D'Urso did at one point.
I think it certainly used to be the case that number 1 on the FL
list got the L1 play-off final and number 2 got the L2 final. I
don't know if that policy is still observed (albeit it would now
be number 1 on SG2 gets the League 1 play-off final and number 1
on the non-SG list gets League 2 play-off final.)

At least nobody has mentioned Andy Woolmer, although I did see
Darren Drysdale's name in there. Personally I wouldn't put him
in charge of the proverbial whelk stall.

This list may or not help! It lists all the refs for the playoff
Semis and Finals since 2004-5 when my copy of Upton's finished;
also Mike Dean from 1999-2000, being the only Upton's Final
'survivor' from pre-2004. Source - Wiki and Upton's. Current
refs who will be eligible to officiate in the playoff finals
this season are in bold. If my calculations are correct, the
following current refs have officiated in a previous Final (not
semi):
Championship - Mike Dean x 3, A Marriner, M Atkinson, L Mason, A
Taylor
L1 - L Mason, M Oliver, R East, D Coote, A Madley, S Attwell, S
Hooper, R Jones
L2 - M Dean, M Atkinson, S Attwell, J Linington, C Pawson, K
Stroud, S Hooper, D England, D Webb.
Interesting that nobody has had a clean sweep of all three
Finals
On this basis, could I suggest this season:
Championship: Craig Pawson (Sheffield United not involved,
Friend on Cup Final duty and Oliver away) or possibly Chris
Kavanagh or Lee Probert
L1 - Tim Robinson or Darren England
L2 - Dean Whitestone or Ben Toner / Michael Salisbury (old hand
or up-and-coming) or (less likely) Anthony Backhouse, Thomas
Bramhall or Neil Hair.
Happy to amend if required but suggest you don't 'Quote'! I will
update at the end of May and retain the database for future
reference. Good reading [emoji1]

So Oliver had the L1 Final in 2008-9. - at the age of 24?
Crikey.
And Attwell just a year older when he had the L2 Final the
previous year.
