Declan Bourne - Scunthorpe United v. Wealdstone

Situation for Declan Bourne to deal with. Looks like he was
given no option other than to abandon the game.

It would be very surprising to see the game get replayed but you
never know. It would set a horrible precedent that team’s can
just refuse to play after their player suffers a hard injury.
Tough one for the ref.

I must be getting old (and a little grumpy!) but to have to
abandon a game because the players "are not in the right
mindset" after a shoulder injury suggests that they are either:
~ Meeting the modern definition of snowflake, or
~ Cynically trying to get a game where they are losing and down
to 10 fit players abandoned.
Some resilience is called for!!

Too much of this sort of thing. Now I will probably get shouted
down but same as there have been a few occasions when a match
has been abandoned because a spectator sadly died. I don't
recall this happening in the past. I was at a match when an
elderly gentleman quietly died a few rows in front of me. The
stewards came and carried the gentleman out and the match didn't
even stop yet lone be abandoned

Such a bizarre week for Scunthorpe who have found themselves on
the end of 2 abandoned games within 4 days!

In rather different circumstances. Shame on Wealdstone. Hope
rather than expect that the NL do the right thing.

Scunthorpe were handed the points as a 0-0 win, no change to
goal difference. A dangerous precedent if you ask me.

Some years ago the FA outlawed the awarding of a couple of
goals, or more, in the case of an unfulfilled fixture.

What would have been a dangerous precedent was replaying the
match !

That's standard across all levels of football in England, games
can be awarded but it must always be without the awarding of
goals. Pretty sure Scunthorpe would rather a 0-0 win than
having to replay the game.
