Josh Smith - Leicester v Birmingham

From a neutral, I think he’s been quite poor tonight, failing to
recognise some clear fouls and yellow cards.
From the outset, I think he set his physical contact level too
high and he’s not recognised some clear fouls. There was a
challenge by a Leicester defender on Gray with a scissor action
- went unpunished. A clear foul on Kyogo in the second half, not
given. Lots of physical stuff he’s let go. Other yellow cards
missed too which he should’ve given (especially when giving
choudhury a yellow in the 1st half.
Josh Smith is a referee I rate very highly but for me he’s been
off the mark so far tonight.

Much better than setting it too low (as per the last time
Birmingham were on TV on a Friday night!)

I agree but there’s a clear difference between letting the game
be physical but then ignoring blatant fouls and yellow cards. I
feel he’s missed some clear fouls and yellow cards.

I would say in my opinion he’s just missed a red card for
Ricardo.

Can’t comment on his performance as I’ve just started watching,
but a really bad miss not giving Pereira at least a yellow for
that lunge over the ball just now, probably a red in my eyes

That’s a red card and he will be disappointed when he sees it
again later
