Nailed on red card for Gordon in my opinion. I can see why
Hooper didn't give it in real time - his positioning wasn't that
great. I think Simon Long should have picked up on it though.
Maybe he did? Hooper had the yellow card out of his pocket very
       quickly after all.

That’s so reckless I’d want to see an increased ban for that
(5-6 games). Can’t go around doing thuggish tackles like that.

It’s a stonewall case of SFP for me, regardless of what I
haven’t seen given in previous games and seasons. The action of
the studs raking down the calf, pulling down the sock as well
gives clear evidence to Brooks in VAR. The only criticism is
that Hooper perhaps should’ve called it on field.
I do actually think he’s had a good half. Chose to manage the
first two incidents by talking to Joelinton and Trippier. A
clear YC for a reckless challenge by Gravenberch. Another
correct YC for Konate. He’s tried to keep cards in the pocket
but the clear stonewall yellow card offences, he has given, in
       my opinion.

It’s going to be a big second half for Hooper and team. He’s
going to have to stand strong. Let’s be honest every foul
Liverpool commit Newcastle players and fans will want a card of
       some colour.
Would like to see Hooper caution a player for dissent as I think
that would make a good mark.

Thats shocking from Hooper allowing Liverpool to counter when
       Schar has a head injury.
Head injury is an instant stop the game, absolutely terrible
       from him

I think people would be more inclined to stop for head injuries
if players didn’t go down feigning injury at every slight touch.
It makes a referees job 10 times harder than it needs to be.
Reminds me of the boy who cried wolf…

Hooper not had a fantastic game by any standard, got the red
card wrong on field and not really had any control and things
       have subsequently boiled over
Was the wrong appointment for this game IMO
