I think the only possible reason could be due to SG1 Injuries,
causing SG2 Officials to be more involved in PL Matches, causing
fewer officials to be available. However, that could just be
coincidental. It happens a lot, it is most likely coincidental
and not done on purpose, if you get what I mean. Middlesborough
have had Richard Woodward 2/3 games this season, Burnley had
Andrew Kitchen a host of times last season. Darren Bond seems to
only ever get Fulham and Leicester games. It is all
coincidental!

Elliot Bell has had an excellent start to the season appointment
wise. Two championship games and a decent L1 game (Blackpool v
Huddersfield), especially considering he’s not in the
supplementary list.
I’ll be in the away end at Preston so I’ll be able to see
Matthew Donohue for the first time in person, one who seemed
close to becoming a PL regular but has been unable to make it
recently

For a referee to be appointed to the same team twice in three
games like Steve Martin has is basically just lazy appointing as
there are plenty of other permutations that could have been used
to prevent it…alas no change from those in charge.

Stockport v Bolton on the opening day as well. Only a matter of
time before he's officially on that list

Saw Elliot Bell at West Brom today. No issues from me as my team
got out of there with a well earned point - but don't think he's
quite ready for regular Championship appointments just yet.
Ryan Mason sent off and general loss of control towards the
final stages, so much so that I wouldn't disagree with any
Baggies fans who feel we were lucky to finish with 10 men and
should've had a penalty kick awarded against us.

Saw the 2 incidents at West Bromwich on ITV. Mason may feel very
unhappy as the penalty claim looked legitimate and the DOGSO
quite arguable. Not had a chance to see the incidents again so
accept I may be wrong.

Norwich City FC (First Team) v MIDDLESBROUGH (First Team)
Football League Championship
Referee: Doughty, Leigh
Assistant Referee: Woodward, Richard
Assistant Referee: Venamore, Lee
Fourth Official: Young, Alan
Very good game,
Only minor fault, let centre half get away with holding the
centre forward first but then penalising the forward.
Thought AR was a bit sharp with offside flag, when player didn't
actually get the ball or even get close to the ball, and a
couple of times could have played on when the keeper had the
ball but went back for the free kick.

Agree fully, the decision not to award WBA a penalty was
shocking imo.

Yes a definite penalty and a clear red card as well. The West
Brom player should have gone down

"Yes a definite penalty and a clear red card as well. The West
Brom player should have gone down"
Prime example of referees not giving things as player didn't go
down. If we want players to stay on their feet and not "con" us
then these decisions have to be given. Definite hold for a long
period of time, preventing attacker going clear on goal. FK and
RC.
IMHO it was a penalty too
On the positive side kudos to Josh Smith for an excellent
simulation spot which (eventually) resulted on a 2YC and RC -
brilliant decision
