I'm a little concerned at how big a workload Chris Kavanagh has
had already this season - 5 European appointments (in different
capacities), Community Shield, and now a second consecutive week
of Europa League into Premier League weekends (with added VAR
this weekend). This will surely take a toll on him at some
point if this continues. I appreciate that with a number of SG1
unavailable, he is going to be used most weeks, but I do hope
they help to manage his workload.
On a more positive note - I note that this is his second week in
a row with Dan Cook. They formed 2 parts of a very successful
team a few years ago (with Sian Massey-Ellis) - I hope this may
be the start of another strong team for Chris (with Betts or
Davies). He did have Bennett/Robathan a couple of seasons ago,
but he really should have a regular team, given he's out in
Europe more regularly now.
Away from Chris, another good appointment for Simon Hooper, and
I think it's wise to appoint Anthony to that game, given what's
gone on with the Palace/Forest in Europe scenario.

Well, I must have seen into the future when I did my
predictions. A whopping 7 correct predictions this week.
Great appointments for all and another great game for Hooper!

Happy with Kavanagh, let’s hope we can keep our discipline, not
lose the plot and keep 11 on the field given the last match
between us and Man U that he officiated!
Hooper with the big game and no surprise to see Oliver on the
Friday night derby.

I was thinking exactly the same with regard to Anthony Taylor
being appointed to referee the Palace v Forest game. Not a game
for the faint-hearted, on and off the field.

Akil Howson is also in the championship this weekend but is the
only SG1 official involved in his game....probably means a PL
officials are injured.

I haven’t seen Alex Chilowicz as a VAR for a long while. Same
with Tony Harrington. Any updates on why they don’t seem to be
on it anymore or have they just drifted onto more on-field
appointments?
