Yep, it took me the best part of 5 hours to get from North
London to Dartford (23 miles) and I rocked up just after the
scheduled kick off.
When I lived and worked in London, it took me anything between
10 mins and 2/3+ hours to drive from home in Thamesmead to the
office in Lewisham, depending on time of day. Driving in London
is not a nightmare I miss! The plus side of learning to drive in
London is my hill starts are perfection every time, 3rd driving
lesson and my instructor took me up Shooters Hill, at rush hour.
There was a police car behind us and I must have done 20 hill
starts that day - nothing like the fear of rolling backwards
into a police car to ensure I got it absolutely spot on! Came as
a shock to me when I moved to Darsetshire and could reach Poole
& Bournemouth police stations in 5 mins from the office in
Westbourne at any time of day, outside of grockle season!

I have never watched Leigh Doughty referee a game, but as a SG2
referee I see him mostly in L1/L2 with occasional Championship
appearances, unless I am overlooking it.
To people that have watched him, does he deserve more
Championship games?
I watched the Coventry v Luton cup game the other day. My
answer to your question, based on personal opinion formed from
that viewing, would be no. That said, I am going to Oakwell on
Saturday where Mr Doughty will be in the middle of Barnsley v
Bolton (hence me watching the COV v LUT game as a 'what to
expect'). Everyone can have a bad day at the office, so I will
possibly have a changed opinion and a different answer to your
question after seeing a second performance to compare with.

Mr Doughty came to Crewe Alex a few years back, and I thought he
was fine. A big man and seemed to cover the pitch at a stroll, a
bit like Andre Marriner of old. Showed his SG2 experience but
didn't referee as if L2 games were beneath him, which was good.
Seemed to have early potential which wasn't realised and I think
he's been a bit injury-prone, so a mix of SG2 and L1/2 is
probably as good as it will get for Mr Doughty.

I also watched this game - stopping the play with Jerry Yates
through on goal was a real bad one.

He finished a game at Cheltenham midweek, so if it is an injury
I hope it isn’t bad.
