As a Sunderland supporter I have been quite excited to see who
the officials would be......especially as a current SG1 AR is
the son of a work colleague of mine however upon reading
straight away the alarm bells sounded for me.
Not for the appointment of Robert Jones or the assistants but
the fact Anthony Taylor has the Liverpool fixture the previous
evening.
If that game finishes around ten o clock then I guess it will be
at least one hour later before he leaves Anfield which leave
sixteen hours to rest, recover and then travel up to Sunderland.
I am sure learned friends on here will explain the protocols
regarding time to arrive etc for match officials but in my very
humble opinion by he will be cutting it fine especially should
the unthinkable happen and RJ needs replacing.

Agree it isn't ideal, but he'll be in bed by midnight at the
latest. Up at 7 for breakfast, leave at 8 and he'll be in
plenty of time. Think I'm right in saying they meet at a local
hotel 3 hours before kick off, and Liverpool to Sunderland
should be less than a 3 hour drive.

It's around about that. It used to be arrival at the ground was
1.5 hours before kick off, hotel is no more than 15-30 min away,
but I'm pretty sure the last couple of seasons or so it has been
2.5 hours before for arrival at the ground.

Only SG1 ref I can’t see featuring in any capacity is 007.
Perhaps on a secret mission elsewhere?

We'll know soon enough! I suspect Missy bmb's pleas for purple
shirts will have fallen on deaf ears though!
I do know Mr Kavanagh will be making an early visit to the
naughty step! Hopefully he will be sat there all on his
lonesome!
