Euro 2025 Final - Frappart

Not always a fan of Frappart, but overall had a very good game.
Very low key in 1st half, judging involvement well, as could
keep game going. Occasionally generous in second half/ET (mostly
with Spain) with a few soft FKs, but generally kept the game
going well. Both ARs did very well. I’m sure she and UEFA will
be happy as no one will be talking about the referee and no
controversy.

Double touch pens - was the rule changed after the Madrid derby
when Alvarez’s penalty was disallowed after the double touch? I
must have missed the announcement on the rule change. Not that
it mattered today as the retake was missed.
Overall, a solid performance from the officiating team, mostly
staying in the background which is not easy to do in a final

The law was "clarified" after the Alvarez incident.

I'm going against the grain so far but I thought Stephanie
Frappart and her ARs were below par and had a very average game.
As mentioned above, some very soft free kick awards, especially
later in the game. Also, I saw a few occasions where there were
mutual fouling situations which resulted (strangely) in one of
the players being penalised! How Ms. Frappart came to the
conclusion that one player was offending more than the other is
beyond me. There was also a situation where Spain took a corner
kick, there was a foul on an England defender but at the same
time, the GK caught the ball and was in a good position to
release it quickly to start an attack. However, the game was
stopped for a free kick to England, thus allowing the Spanish
players to retreat up field to defend the next passage of play.
Might have been better to just acknowledge the foul and shout
"play on" to the GK, giving her a clear advantage?
Also, there were a couple of errors by each of the ARs in the
indication of throw-in decisions and goal kick/corner kick
decisions.
On the whole, the team performed adequately, in my opinion, but
no more than that.

I think there was a very late flag for offside, England had got
good possession, but Frappart went back for the free-kick!
I think there was also a corner correctly given to England, that
Spain weren't happy with, and surprise surprise then Spain get
awarded a free kick when the corner was delivered.

I don't think it was her best performance, there were several
fouls during the game which were done by Spain and correctly
penalised, by the awarding of a free-kick to England, but when
done by England she cautioned the offending player. She was
inconsistent in dealing with these offences. I had the feeling
that as the game went on any 50/50 challenges always went to
Spain.
She is probably the best female referee in the world, and does
referee in Champions League and other European competitions, so
she is well thought of UEFA, but this was not as good , as i
expected her to be.
Bur in fairness referees are only human just like the players
and do make mistakes and don't always get all decisions correct.

The yellow card for bronze was a joke! The contact happened 2
mins after she’d played the ball cleanly

Not quite two minutes, however, the tackle was fair, won the
ball and was not reckless, using excess force or whatever else
they find an excuse to caution for these days.
She also penalised Agyemang late in the game for a fair
challenge when she won the ball fair and square, however, the
Spanish player threw herself onto the floor and a free kick was
awarded. A caution should have been given for simulation.
It was a satisfactory performance, however, there were flaws,
without doubt

Also I couldn't work out why Agyemang was shown a yellow card
when it appeared to me that her run had been blocked off by a
Spanish defender, although I haven't seen a replay of the
incident.
