Alina Pesu, Switzerland v Norway, Euro 2025

I only saw the second half of this game and what an entertaining
half it was. Norway penalty - arm waved carelessly and penalty
award was a no-brainer. Penalty was missed and the ball then
went up the other end and another penalty was awarded, this time
to Switzerland, just 60 seconds later. Considerable doubts on
this one, was there contact, and the decision was then
overturned without review, not because there was no contact but
because a player had been in an offside position in the build
up. All a bit confusing I have to say and why it took so long
for the semi-automated offside decision to be made, I don't
know. Further confusion with the substitutions - who's going off
/ coming on - and at one time, Alina and the 4O looked decidedly
irritated with it all. This needs to be sorted out.
Overall - a reasonable performance from Alina and team, cards
were used sparingly and were spot on, fitness was not in doubt,
and about the right amount of time was added on at the end.

Substitutes and use of the electronic boards do appear to be a
problem. They certainly struggle with multiple substitutions at
the same time. I know it wont happen, but to go back in time and
use printed number boards, be much easier if the actual player
coming on, actually held up the number board of the player
coming off!
Also something needs to be done about subs coming onto the field
of play when goals are scored. Make it a mandatory yellow card
offence (like removing shirt) soon stop them.

In American Football if players come onto the field en masse -
then they get a 15 yard penalty applied to the subsequent
kickoff giving them poor field position as a result.
It stops that kind of thing happening
