Ohhh Taylor a mess up 39 minutes went straight red for late high
foot, but sadly lacked the power so came over VAR - Yellow card,
but to be fair I see why he went red !! Should have stuck with
his decision.

I thought it was yellow tbh, but there were grounds for a red.
He had a good game otherwise

I think 'mess' is a bit strong but fair one.
Here's the review:

Also, here's Taylor doing a 'however' announcement for
non-interfering offside:

Think that is understandable, at real time he's seen him slide
in with foot high and make contact. I'm not really sure a
review recommendation was needed there, had the opponent's leg
been grounded there's no doubt it would be a red card, not
entirely sure why him having his foot off the ground means it
isn't.

Only a mess up in regard to having made what would be deemed by
fifa to be an error.
But imo red was deserved, this was a Brazilian v Egyptian game,
and expectations is different to the PL, so for me a pointless
VAR review that should have stayed referees decision.
Tough game overall, 7 yellows, but Taylor did himself proud.

I think it’s a YC but very much understand why Mr. Taylor went
RC in real time. Good VAR intervention and very calmly and
succinctly explained afterwards. Same for the offside ‘however’
announcement.
Whatever one might think of Mr. Taylor’s refereeing (I myself am
a fan) one cannot question his professionalism and dedication to
his craft. He always presents a professional, determined and
hardworking image, without any flashy ego, that I think does
himself proud.

Agree with you for the most part, but dont agree that he
explained it well. By saying he didn't leave the floor with 2
feet; this will suggest to the football public that as long as
they don't do this, it can't be a red card.
A better explanation would explain minimal contact/speed

Fair point, I think in the refereeing world we can make the link
that it’s a combination of factors, but indeed for fans who are
not as obsessed with officiating nuance as us - best to keep the
explanation general.
