English ref for a semi or 3rd place play off perhaps?
[/quote]
Chelsea’s appearance in the semis may have put paid to that.

Have just seen a later post while reviewing mine.
According to another forum, Law 5, Sampaio, Tello and Faghani
were regarded as the favourites for the Final. I can't see
either English official appearing again unless it's as 4th O. I
don't think there is a 3rd place play-off, is there? I now see
Sampaio is not retained and only Marciniak & Letexier from UEFA.
Taylor had a good QF performance reading the accounts despite an
OFR, and the few comments on Law 5 about Oliver in the R16
suggested he was very good in Bayern Munich v Flamengo, which I
saw part of and was regarded as one of the better games to
watch.
If both of them and their teams have come home, well done and
enjoy your short break before the start of the new season.

Don't think there is a 3rd place playoff surprisingly!

Surely not! That's missing another income stream for FIFA!

I am really surprised that Letexier has been retained (
especially with a French club in the semi finals, so that can't
be an issue ) and Turpin and Taylor haven't been. I can never
work out the pecking orders at FIFA.

Reading comments on here and elsewhere, it seems Letexier and
Oliver have something in common. Both are considered to have
had disappointing seasons domestically but have performed very
well on the international stage.
As Taylor had 3 games at the Club World Cup and Oliver 2, I'd
have thought if either were to be retained, it was more likely
to have been the latter.

Anthony HAS been retained but isn't expecting another game.
He Refereed the 2022 Final which may well preclude him getting
it again
