Rugby World Cup 2019 Referees

I still can’t find any definitive list from World Rugby as to
the panel of refs, assistants and TMOs who have been selected.
Was expecting something by now. However I note the RFU have
tweeted congratulations to the following on being chosen - Wayne
Barnes, Luke Pearce, Matt Carley, Karl Dickson, Graham Hughes
and Roman Kitt. As previously discussed on another thread I
would expect Barnes and Pearce to be on-field refs, Dickson as
touch judge and Hughes and Kitt as TMOs. Carley could be
borderline on field/touch judge. Gut feeling says the latter.
Anyone can find any more?

Been looking myself and no one has published a list that I can
find
If those are correct I knew I should have had a pound at the
bookies

Just seen a report on the ruck.co.uk site which suggests Glen
Jackson has been overlooked which would be a big shock.
No confirmation as nofficial list out yet

I do hope that is not true as I think, on his day, he is very
good. Certainly up there with Gus Gardner. Definitely better
than any of the South African lot and most of his countrymen,
only O'Keefe is close at the moment, in my opinion

He has had a few ropey international games recently so doesn't
surprise me that he's been overlooked - think O'Keefe will get
the nod instead

The same article I mentioned above suggests both O’Keefe and
Williams have been given the nod but no mention of any NZ TMOs.
It also states that the decision on who gets chosen rests
ultimately with Alain Rolland as World Rugby’s high performance
referees supremo.

I see in an interview for Sport24 in N Z out today Jackson had
confirmed he has not been chosen but that Williams and O’ Keefe
are going.
He seemingly had indicated he was going to stand down (a la
Wayne Barnes) after the WC and the current Southern Hemishpere
season but because of the disappointment at not being chosen is
now considering an extra year to end his career on a more
positive note.
As has been said, he was N Z referee of the year 2018 so
something has gone a bit pear-shaped. I have seen it said by
more than one person on another RU forum that he has not had a
good season down under and at times has looked uninterested and
his decisions random, so there may be strong justification for
his non selection.
The report also confirms the official list of referees and other
officials has not yet been made public.

Disappointing but if he did not merit a position then fair play
to Rolland and Co.
O'Keefe has a good chance of involvement in KO stages, Williams
probably less so, be good experience for him

Well RCG, we didn’t do too bad again!
Referees - Barnes, Pearce, Owens, Peyper, Garces, Poite,
Gauzere, Raynal, Gardner, Berry, O’Keefe and Williams
Touch judges - Carley (also reserve Ref), Dickson, Brace,
Pickerill, Anselmi, Kubo and Ruiz
TMOs - Hughes, Kitt, Skeen and Jonker
As far as I can see the only big casualty is Jackson as we have
seen already

5 frenchmen in total seems a little high. Gauzerre really better
than Jackson
Pleased for the English lads, will wish them well when I see
them in action in Newcastle this Friday
