Mr Pratt seems to be a very busy umpire up north recently….
Where is he stationed if anyone has any knowledge of places of
birth?

He is from Bishop Auckland,County Durham. He is the brother of
Andrew and Gary Pratt who both played for Durham. I believe Neil
played second team cricket for Durham and Glamorgan but did not
make any first team appearances.

Gary Pratt was the famous (or infamous, if you are Australian)
12th man who ran out Ricky Ponting in the 2005 Ashes, causing
the Aussie captain to "spit the dummy" in a big way about
England's use (overuse?) of 12th men. He may have had a point
but - on this occasion - Gary Pratt was subbing for Simon Jones
who took no further part in the match (or series).

is unwell or doing other duties?

He is at Worksop College today doing the second elevens t20
games between Notts and Derbys.
