I've had some texts yesterday and today from friends who support
Villa - every one of them expresses embarrassment and/or shame
at the conduct of their club and stating they should have some
       humility.

The BBC go on to say:
He is not the only experienced referee who was not appointed as
the on-field match official for Sunday's final round.
Chris Kavanagh, Simon Hooper, Peter Bankes and Samuel Barrott
have all refereed 20 or more Premier League matches this season
but were not in the middle for any of Sunday's 10 games.
Hello BBC - Championship playoff game the day before! As Buzz
Lightyear would say "There seems to be no sign of intelligent
       life anywhere"!

As someone already mentioned, Hackett probably says some of this
stuff to get the media outlets some attention and I reckon he
gets a good pay check for it anyway
Extremely disappointing to read the BBC have picked up on his
words too, encouraging the narrative by effectively saying that
Bramall was out of his depth.
I would heavily criticise the statement that Bramall is very
inexperienced at Prem level. He’s been on the SG1 list since
2022, with his first game being in August that year. That means
he’s been at prem level for 3 years. That’s longer than Barrott,
Robinson, Bond so it’s fair to say that he’s not inexperienced
       at prem level.
And anyway, who’s to say that a more senior official might not
have made the same error in judgement. We saw Simon Hooper play
a wonderful advantage in Man City v Spurs after Haaland was
fouled but for some reason brought play back when Grealish was
       through.
Anyone can correct me here but I don’t think I’ve seen an
incident this season similar to the one we saw on Sunday and
many referees would probably have done the same thing as
       Bramall.
The whole situation has been blown wildly out of proportion

The fact that Hackett is seemingly suggesting that Michael
Oliver could have refereed an Aston Villa game when Newcastle
were playing at the same time just shows what an incompetent
clown he is. Can you imagine the furore if a known Newcastle
supporter made a decision that cost Villa points and ultimately
got Newcastle into the Champion's League places?
The only games impacting anything this weekend, aside from prize
money, were on European qualification places and therefore
Oliver was rightly ruled out of contention from all of them.

Precisely why Oliver was appointed as VAR to a game completely
out of the way of the big battle near the top.
The publishers and news outlets shouldn’t really be wasting
money on a dinosaur like Hackett to publicise such clap trap.
Even worse the BBC has come along, I don’t pay my license fee to
have words printed in that tone.

Perhaps Hackett has forgotten his post match comments about
       Barrott after the Merseyside derby?
Inexperienced? Shouldn’t have been appointed blah blah blah.

Bramhall has reffed 11 games in the prem this year and a similar
number in the championship. One of those games was Villa’s visit
to Southampton when Emery made no complaint about his lack of
experience. In fact the ref gave Villa 2 penalties, both of
       which they missed!
In the 2019/20 season Villa escaped relegation by one point -
thanks in part to the failure of the goal line technology
denying Sheffield United a goal which meant Villa drew the game.
I don’t recall the club expressing any desire to have Sheffield
       awarded a goal!
For one of the early posters to say the ref’s decision on Sunday
WILL cost Villa millions is, with respect, daft. Bearing in mind
that Villa had one shot on target in the game to Man United’s
10, there is absolutely no guarantee Villa would have held out
for the rest of the game.
You win some and you lose some Villa. Accept the result with a
bit of dignity rather than whingeing.
