Man United - Aston Villa. Tom Bramall

Another red card for Bramall and another good decision for me.
The ball is going wide but no defenders back and Hojlund is set
for a clear shot on goal

Should be a Villa goal for me keeper not in control of the ball
there, Bramall blowing the whistle before the ball enters the
goal not allowing VAR to intervene. Disappointing as he'd had a
good afternoon up to that point.

Correct decision to award a penalty now to Utd, judging by the
delay it looks like communication from Howson to award.

You can’t get away from the fact that he has made a massive
error which will cost Villa Millions.
Clearly not ready yet as a top ref

I think Aston Villa need to look at points dropped after
European games this year long before they shout at TB - yes its
a poor decision, one given out of an assumption the keeper had
possession of the balll in his hands. He blew the whistle
because he thought it was a foul. Under NO circumstances was
VAR designed to ref those situations

It's the wrong decision but it isn't even that bad, it's just
       because of the consequences.
It's just a lesson for him in the VAR era to hold the whistle
       until play has developed.
Btw he has most certainly not cost Villa top 4, I'd start
pointing fingers at the 10 on the pitch for their below par
performance, as well as the ridiculousness of their goalkeeper,
as well as a long list of other factors before blaming TB.

Why did he feel the need to rush to the whistle? The ball was
heading into the net before the whistle, delay 2 seconds and
avoid all problems its no different to offsides

It takes time for a referee to learn to go against their
instinct to blow that they will have done up until being
promoted to the EPL and using VAR. I have a lot of sympathy with
       TB.

Similar to Barrott earlier in the season. Referee's newer to
using VAR more likely to delay a whistle.

Is there nothing they can do (or put into procedure for the
future) along the lines of the “Inadvertent Whistle” Rule that
is used in the NFL if there is immediate continuing action (in
this case the immediate scoring of the goal) when the whistle
has no material effect on the play?
