I was convinced this would be the game for Attwell to do his
first Arsenal match since October 2023, but clearly not. Maybe
next season will be it'll happen. Nice to have someone outside
the usual 3 or 4 who do almost all Arsenal matches though.

Will be interesting to see what happens IF someone pulls out of
the final week due to injury. If Hooper isnt involved at all
but his assistants are both together, then I have no clue as he
is the only spare SG1 referee. Some rejigging would have to be
done but I doubt there will be any replacements needed.

Gillett, Barrott or Oliver would seem favourite, although
Simpson could always move up a step😂

Even if these appointments were drawn up a week or so back, it
was fairly clear back then that Liverpool v Palace would likely
be a dead rubber. So why is that match deemed to need 2 x SG1
officials, when two of those with Champions League places at
stake have an SG2 4O? From a Man City viewpoint, I am feeling
distinctly nervous about Jeremy Simpson in the middle should
Andy Madley pick up an injury, having already watched him him in
action for a Tranmere game this season. One of the weaker SG2
officials in my view. I also have reservations about John Brooks
on VAR duties, as his bar for intervention seems to be set
relatively low.

Understandable that Bobby Madley was chosen as the replacement
due to his previous experience as a former sg1 official on a
game with quite a bit riding on it for one team.
