It was a potential red card!

whether it was a yellow or red card. Since the on-field
officials presumably didn’t see the handball they couldn’t have
decided what penalty should have been imposed and VAR should
have given them the opportunity to decide whether it was a red
card. At that point all options are available and a free kick
and yellow card could have been awarded if the referee didn’t
think it deserved a red card.

How many times does the same thing have to be said. VAR cannot
give the referee an opportunity to have another look, the only
way there can be a review is if VAR deem that the referee made a
clear and obvious error. I actually think they did in this
case, but had there been a review it wouldn't be to have another
look, rather it would have been VAR telling referee that they
thought they had dropped a clanger. That's why almost every
review results in the referee changing the decision, reviews
should be a factual decision where the referee was very clearly
wrong and therefore they should be no scope for the referee to
       stick with his original decision.

Keith Hackett says Henderson should have stayed on the pitch.
Dale Johnson disagrees. I think there is a general divergence of
opinion which suggests that it wasn't a clear and obvious error
in missing a DOGSO. The AR did let the team down.
It is worth remembering regarding the penalty, getting a slight
touch on the ball doesn't necessarily negate the award of a
penalty. This was one of those cases imho.
Well done Palace. City were not at their best and their
performance summed up their season. Should have done better.

I think i know who of thise two i would believe to be correct.
I believe this was Another case of trying to keep 11 players on
       the pitch for each side.

Repeating something doesn’t necessarily make it true, see Donald
Trump’s repeated statements as an example.
Are you telling me that missing the fact that the goalkeeper
quite deliberately uses his hand outside the penalty area to
knock the ball away from a forward when there is an empty net
behind him does not provide grounds to ask the ref to review the
       decision the decision for DOGSO?

For obvious reasons (I hope) I will not comment on the key
incidents. I'm just returning from Cloud 9, having seen my
beloved Palace win a major trophy at Wembley at last. Cheers
       everyone!

Looking at the second picture in the above article the AR is
miles behind play. This play was from a long ball over the top
so he would have originally been in line with the Palace
       defenders.
City yet again using their tactic of deliberately fouling early
to stop attacks developing when they are caught out of position.

       Congrats on the win!
I think the celebrations will be less affable in places like
Fulham, Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford as its probably
buggered up (not conclusively yet) any chance of these teams
getting into Europe now, unless Chelsea fall off a cliff into
6th and win the conference league.
