Delighted for Nika - had a really strong season and has
developed into a world class referee. Amazed that Hollie has
been awarded the other final, her performances that I have seen
have lacked consistency and control - she has always looked out
of her depth at European level - should be interesting …..

I got 1 our of 2 right, in fact got all infield champs cup team
right, jonker is a left field appt
Pleased for Nika, will be cheering him on from the stands
I like Hollie as a referee but didn't see her appointment
coming. Should be an entertaining evening next Friday

Delighted for both of them.
I expected Nika with the teams involved but cant say I expected
Davidson.
She deserves it though and hopefully they both have great games

I would agree, awful performance from start to finish -
inconsistent on the breakdown, offside seemingly ignored, missed
loads which the TMO had to bail him out on - as poor a
performance in a major final of any sport as I can remember -
didn’t affect the result though - a game too far for the
youngsters from Northampton - the two injuries in the first 5
minutes didn’t help either - great achievement to get to the
final though
Interestingly the broadcaster for the final apparently was from
French TV - seemed very selective on the replays they showed -
time for neutral broadcasters as well ?

From inside the stadium it was apparent things were not great.
His body language was v passive, lacking his usual confidence
TMO decisions took ages, replays were slow. Some incidents I
wasn't convinced fell within the TMO purvue.
Northampton started well but the 2 injuries and then the yellow
cards upset their rythym
Had Coles not held back the defender ruling out the first try
for Northampton in the 2nd half, the game may have been
different
Hopefully Nika will learn a lot from today; it was of test match
intensity in places and get it right for the Lions.
Not sure what happened on final whistle but Piardi ended up
having a long heart to heart with the petulant Pollock
Great atmosphere, enhanced by the French
Credit to organisation around Cardiff Central Station too

Credit to European rugby as they had a French official (Ludovic
Cayre) as 5th official on both games, ensuring the French
benches were dealt with in their own language.
Welshmen Ben Whitehouse and Ben Breakspear were 4th official -
Breakspear running the line in the 2nd half of Challenge Cup,
replacing injured Cross

I did raise my surprise and concerns at the appointment of Holly
to the Challenge Cup Final in an above post - her decision to
not send off Sam (Underhill ) for his head on head challenge in
the first half looked shocking and unsurprisingly the
Independent Disciplinary Panel have disagreed with her on-field
decision and imposed a 4 week ban
Hopefully a lesson learned by both Holly and the appointing
board - best officials for best games, irrespective of anything
else

ars and Adamson meed a bit of blame too.
