Sunderland v Coventry - Andrew Madley

32 Minutes in and Andy Madley is performing extremely well !!
Prob the best game I have seen him in for sometime.
He looks relaxed and in full control, great spot for the dive in
the 10th minute, and 3 other yellows up to the 32nd minute mark.
But very relaxed, I like it, and all mandatories applied … why
can’t he ref PL games like this?!!!

I would agree with what you’ve said. I only turned in after 20
minutes but he’s been very good. As you’ve said, looks very calm
and relaxed and the cautions have been nailed on

Missed a couple of clear coventry cards, kick to the head and a
dive which he gave the free kick for.
2 identical challenges just before half time in extra time 2
different out comes one he decided to stop a dangerous counter
       attack

I honestly think that's probably one of the best showings in the
play Offs for quite a few years, perfection from Madley who puts
a very nice end to what's been a poor season for him.

Mostly excellent officiating from Madley who looked more like a
calm and composed PL ref than he has done in recent games. I
thought there were a couple of strange decisions in ET - one
where a Sunderland player clearly won the ball but gave a foul
and a high boot which I thought a caution would’ve been issued.
Those moments aside I thought he was very consistent and
cautioned correctly when he needed to in a game which had its
tetchy moments. It never got beyond his control and I can
probably comfortably say that that is the best I’ve seen him
       officiate this season.

A couple of minor errors but probably his best performance since
the cup final, in a very challenging atmosphere. Great way to
       end the season

I have stated on here before that he’s been one of the worst
performing sg1s this season but I have to compliment him for
tonight. Was relaxed throughout and got most things correct.
Great performance in a tense playoff semi final.

Was his level of performance perhaps summat to do with not
having to be concerned about VAR and therefore able to trust
himself to make his own decisions?

Been watching a couple of incidents back involving the coventry
keeper, very dirty player and lucky not to have been booked in
the 1st half, that's not a football play.

The incident where he eventually got booked was initiated by him
       as well
