Easy pickings so far, had hardly anything to do this half.
More like a pre season friendly or an end of season kick about
       from both sides.
       Black today FTR.

Had a really good view of the handball and I have to admit I
thought it was a penalty in real time.
It has been mentioned that we haven’t seen enough of VAR being
told to get lost after a look at the screen so we have to
       respect Englands view as such.
I wonder if this will be covered in the next Howard Webb show.
Thought England was good today, did let a few hefty challenges
go and stood no nonsense with any backchat.

Especially for JCFC as well, a special travel report!
No tube at Putney Bridge due to a fire alert meant it was a
trudge down to Putney station and a very cosy queue and boarding
of a short formed SWT to Waterloo.
Luckily we got a seat at Clapham J for Eastbourne as usually it
is standing room only from Victoria.
So only a half hour delay so far than normal. I have sympathy
with the swathes of Evertonians who were struggling to find a
route to Euston with all the chaos on the tube in the Putney
       area.

The audio for the non penalty is really hard to listen to.
Salisbury just refuses to listen to his AVAR and it sounded like
a mess, England quite right to stick with his decision.

That’s a handball in UEFA comps. Salisbury must have got himself
in a muddle over that but the angle selection was poor, Howson
seemed to know England wouldn’t be convinced

I agree that in a UEFA competition a penalty should be awarded.
In the EPL, they obviously don't want it to be. Personally, I
have mixed views, I can see the argument both ways, I'd tend to
go with the referee's call either way.
The communications though is disappointing. As has been pointed
out, Salisbury more or less ignored Howson, who I think had a
very good recommendation to show the other angle.
While I can support England sticking with his call, I never
really like his comms. To me he always sounds under pressure,
and as a result, a bit bullish in the way he talks to his
colleagues. I'm know SG1 officials should be able to hold their
own, but I don't think his communication style encourages his
team to give their full views.

To be fair, England being bullish on comms is probably because
Salisbury nearly threw them both under the bus
England has bailed Salisbury out of a KMI.
Find Salisbury to be a very average official, along with a few
others who are very lucky to have a job in SG1.
