No surprises in Leagues One and Two Play Off Semi Final
appointments. I had Coy, Hallam, Kirk, L Smith, Speedie and
Toner down as likely candidates.
Who does this leave for the Finals ? I'll go for Ricardo, Webb
and Gillett

Tom Nield took charge of a League Two semi final leg and final a
couple of years ago so wouldn’t rule out Lewis Smith. Will
Finnie was who I suspected before these appointments for the
League Two final and still think that it will be him. With the
combined list this year I wonder if Ricardo is in line for the
National League final ?
For the past couple of years one of the Championship first leg
refs has taken charge of the League One final. Can only see Webb
or Kitchen appointed this year.

Little bit surprised by the appointments with the Championship
playoffs. Langford and Busby weren’t the first two to come to
mind but they’ve been fairly steady across the season. I’m more
surprised that Bankes and Madley have the second legs, arguably
two of the SG1 referees with the poorest recent form. Maybe
Harrington and Jones may have been better onfield.
No issues with the L1 and L2 appointments though - as they
follow patterns we’ve seen in the last couple of years.
I’m really interests however on who’s going to get the L1 final
though. It’s looking like it’s between Webb and Kitchen. They’ve
both already done second leg L1 playoff (Webb - Sheffield
Wednesday v Peterborough and Kitchen - Peterborough v Oxford) so
in my opinion it really is a flip of a coin between them.
Across the finals, my prediction would be Gillett, Webb, L Smith

Personally I would go Gillett Webb Hallam…. Time will tell,good

the no yellow memo i passed on from our south coast colleague.

Kavanagh has had a pretty good season in all honesty, he has had
many good games this season in important clashes so well done to
him, well deserved.

Kav has been very good for most the season but there's been some
poor performances too, I think there's more deserving candidates
if I'm honest (Gillett mainly). Certainly when it comes to
Brooks on VAR after the Evanilson incident. I know different
people make the appointments but feels more like a consolation
for no FA cup final.
