Has to be a red card for the DOGSO penalty given. No attempt to
play the ball against Hoijlund.

Correct decision from eskas after ofr. Dogso without attempt to
play ball.
Would like to see a replay of the possible handball
beforehand.on live view it looks like he slips with hand in
natural position

On the contrary, Hoijland was never getting the ball and the
contact was minimal. Do not think that should’ve been
overturned.
Ps the TNT commentary is beyond a disgrace.

Can’t say I’ve been impressed by the usual excellent Eskas in
the first 35 minutes , the penalty and RC spot on but he’s
missed clear fouls

Would love to see the replay of the possible handball in the
build up, clear foul and red after that though

yep I thought that but he’s let it go for both sides.if he keeps
up that line I’d be happy enough

I might be in the minority here but I don't think that's a
penalty as for me there isn't enough contact for it to be given.
If your gonna start giving penalty's for things like this then
there would be a penalty given at every corner as those sorts of
challenges happen all the time and are never given. He's also
missed quite a few obvious fouls for both teams and I think
Athletic Bilbao have every right to be upset.

For any of our contributors who do not think it’s a penalty I’d
like to remind you of a couple of things and why I think it’s a
penalty.
We have to remember that we are not watching a premier league
match. This is a UEFA match where some of the guidance on the
rules is very different. Holding and impeding from set pieces is
one of these. We have already seen this with Raul Asencio’s
holding on Merino which resulted in a penalty in RMA v ARS. For
this situation there is very clearly an arm around Hojlund’s
shoulder which impacts his ability to move forward to get into a
better goal scoring position. He may not have scored but he
certainly would’ve had a better chance if he wasn’t impeded by
Vivian. I think it’s very difficult for Eskas to give that in
real time because he’s following the cross and doesn’t see the
full effect of the pullback. Therefore I think the correct
decision was reached regarding this incident.
The main talking point is the possible handball by Garnacho in
the build up. His arm is in a natural position for accidentally
falling over but in my opinion clearly uses his arm (not
intentionally) to control the ball.

I think that Man Utd are very lucky that wasn't a free kick
against them as it was very similar to the penalty that was
given and if we are talking about consistency then it should be
a free kick and a red card against Lindelof.
