The fact that he slipped added to the fact that it was
unintentional are facts that are not at all relevant as to
whether it is serious foul play or not.
He slipped because his motion was out of control due to the
speed he was moving towards an opponent. Whilst he did not mean
to slip, he did choose to move towards that opponent at speed.
The contact he made was high on the opponents' lower body and
with some force. In the view of VAR his actions endangered the
safety of an opponent and met the threshold for SFP. Clearly
this was contrary to what the match referee believed had
happened and - therefore - an on field review was required.
I realise that this is going to be unpopular, but I believe the
right decision was (eventually) reached.

Scissor kick and it injured the player. That doesn't help his
case.

A few years ago a now FIFA Official of my acquaintance (Not AT)
telling me, after sending off a player in a NL fixture that,
although he knew the player had slipped, and wholly sympathised,
he was "expected" to send him off

I suspect that the red will be rescinded, look who you are
playing in the next few games.

The Dorgu yellow card was embarrassing.

I actually think the Adams one in the first half is worse. And
could have caused serious damage. If that was for example
casemeiro we all know the red would have been out in a flash.
2 clear holding offences on Maguire in the box not given, no
different to any penalty for holding we’ve seen this season ,
and it still goes unpunished
Bankes back to his usual self. Poor

Don’t agree re Maguire. He was holding Semenyo as much as
Semenyo was holding him and in fact on the second one he pushed
Semenyo over. Neither were penalties, they were 6 of 1 half a
dozen of the other.

They could’ve just sold it like they do in the rugby codes. Yes
it was serious foul play, however there was a mitigating factor
of him slipping first, therefore a yellow card is appropriate
(or even just play on).

Maguire trying to pull semenyo off him. Bournemouth player not
even looking at the ball only Maguire. I’ve seen penalties given
for a lot less
