       A very good point. Crawley v Northampton get Charles Breakspear
       as fourth official. Any point? Northampton are safe (I think).

       Doesn’t even require a Breakspear type. James Oldham (for
       example) would do as long as it’s a referee who’s not a first
       year

       Yes, Assistants tend to get appointed locally (loosely) whereby
       Referees are expected to go across the country but it doesn't
       happen often.

       Love the Tranmere “youth” celebrating infront of the Crewe
       players and fans because they stayed up. One kid started to
       attack Hemmings, our striker, which isn’t on.
       Onto the game - I’ll let Boz do the report because I can’t be
       bothered 😂

       Somehow we’re still in the top 3 with one game to go! I’d have
       taken that all day long at 12.30 but it didn’t quite go the way
       I expected😅 Ross Joyce as always had a good game at
       Doncaster, albeit a couple of soft fouls to the hosts. He
       correctly awarded us a penalty after a long consultation with
       AR2, possibly about the position of the foul but Joyce looked as
       though he was considering awarding it to Donny, but good
       teamwork saw them get it right.
       The main talking point is Baldwin’s sending off at half time. I
       called out Smallwood for his red card the other week but that
       was nothing in comparison. Despite a fairly decent season his
       Bradford career is undoubtedly over - whether he plays again or
       not he’ll never regain the trust of the fans, and no blame can
       be attached to the referee who gave him multiple chances to head
       to the dressing room before a caution, then a straight red for
       OFFINABUS. Our gaffer says the ref had no choice so it can’t
       have been nice whatever he said

       No excuse for that or the number of smoke bombs/flares that were
       set off in the Kop during the second half. If I had anything to
       do with it a good number of them would be on Football Banning
       Orders!
       The match report will have to wait until tomorrow, too
       emotionally drained right now.

       I watched AFC Wimbledon v Port Vale. While my mate was very
       happy as he supports Port Vale.
       I thought Declan Bourne had a poor game. He does not seem to be
       a referee who likes to activity engage with the players. Some
       very soft free kicks given both ways.
       The main talking point was Port Vales second goal. AFC Wimbledon
       had a player down with a clear head injury and Declan played on
       and the result was Port Vale scored. The player had treatment to
       his head on the FOP for about five minutes and was then subbed.
       The AFC Wimbledon manager was sent off by Declan for his
       protests about the decision. About ten minutes later a Port Vale
       player went down with a head injury and Declan could not stop
       the game quick enough.
       Congratulations to Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers and Wrexham on
       their promotions this season.

       I thought I’d never write this but, hear me out. I thought Paul
       Marsden had a fairly good game today at Boston United vs
       Gateshead let the game flow as best he could, first yellow card
       on 73 minute to away side. Away side had a fairly good shout for
       a penalty I’ve watched it back 5/6 times both as natural and as
       away fan I think maybe he may have got that one wrong player may
       have got a little touch buyt

       Assistant Referee: Ellis, Andrew
       Assistant Referee: Bickle, Oliver
       Fourth Official: Burgess, Adam
       Mr Parsons set the bar low for awarding fouls, with a string of
       free-kicks in the opening stages of the game, given for
       relatively minor contact. After Rovers had taken the lead midway
       through the half and against the balance of play, there were two
       other points of note. Dennis booked for blocking off the Crewe
       defender, who ended up in the hoardings, it looked a tad harsh
       to me. A Crewe equaliser was chalked off for offside, my
       impression was that the player making the late run and initial
       free-kick might have managed to stay onside as he headed in, but
       the player making sure was offside, but looked very tight.
       The second half was predominantly going with the home side, but
       a weak back-pass left Rovers defender O'Connor heading for goal
       and he was taken down from behind by the Crewe no 30 with Mr
       Parsons having one of the easiest DOGSO red cards he's likely to
       have to produce. Shame, as O'Connor's never scored for Tranmere,
       but without the challenge, he'd be in with a fighting chance. In
       added time, Mr Parsons produced a second YC to Rovers Hendry.
       The first was for dissent after an award of a Crewe goal-kick
       where it looked to both me and the player that it had come off a
       Crewe player last. The second was for another Crewe free-kick,
       where Hendry returned the ball by kicking it high but with
       little distance to Crewe. If Mr Parsons adjudged it
       time-wasting, it would have been a harsh decision against any
       player in my view. The fact that he didn't produce the card
       until about ten seconds after he'd blown for the foul and then
       twigged that the player was Hendry felt like poor refereeing and
       an evening up exercise.
       More cards late in the game, as Crewe got a corner and forward
       Thiabut pushed keeper McGee into the hoardings to get the ball,
       with more force than had been involved in the Dennis incident
       during the first half. There was then a scuffle, in which Hall
       pulled Davison's top-knot and was sent off, while three others
       including Thiabut were shown YCs. I felt there was far more risk
       to the opponent by Thiabut's action than Hall's.
       Overall, while there was no argument about Mr Parsons' fitness
       and I like the way he allowed the ARs to flag infringements,
       yesterday he didn't wholly convince in the role.

       How Thibaut wasn’t sent off for pushing McGee into the hoardings
       is beyond me. That could have ended horribly. Not protecting
       player safety at all seems to be a common theme with this
       referee..
