Interesting, 50:50 gender split where of late ICC Women's events
have had majority female panels

A very interesting point Marcus…I do wonder if/when we’ll see
ICC appoint a neutral female official to either a full member
bilateral series or a major men’s tournament.

Yes, the ICC seems to be almost umming and ahhing about pathways
for female officials. On one hand the separate International
panels for female officials are great from a development
standpoint and giving formal recognition, but I feel they do
pigeonhole female umpires somewhat as almost exclusively
umpiring female internationals. Had hoped that for example Kim
Cotton might have filled the 4th spot on NZC's International
Panel given the men's T20Is she was doing, but now that looks
like it is out of the question with Cory Black appointed. I mean
ultimately if he's objectively the better official that's fine
but would be good to have more transparency on that front and
what the ICC's vision is-female officials for female matches or
if we could one day see a female umpire standing in a men's
Test/on the Elite Panel- I can't see why the latter shouldn't
happen
