Michael Salisbury - Ipswich v Forest

Didn’t know whether I’d make the trip to Portman road today
after being ill the last couple of days but managed to recover
and made the trip.
Despite Ipswich’s poor result, I feel much better after seeing
an excellent refereeing display from Mr Salisbury. From the
outset, he set a level of contact which was very tolerable, not
too little contact was deemed as a foul which I like. Played
some good advantages for Forest and only resorted to the cards
when necessary. I think he had the respect of most players which
is always good. Don’t think he missed a free kick to be fair to
him. I’d say that as the score line got bigger, Ipswich got a
few more 50/50 decisions their way but nothing blatantly wrong.
If anything, a couple of questionable corner or goal kick
awards.
A couple of close ‘ball out of play’ for the ARs but nothing
game changing. A very good afternoon for team ref.
Also good to see Macho Man showing everyone how to lift the
boards. Must have been too cold for him though because his
muscles weren’t on show today, they were hidden under his jumper
😁

Probably the best refereeing display I have seen at PR all
season. Well done Michael!

From what I’ve seen live, I’d definitely put it up there with
Lewis Smith’s performance v Fulham. Both are clear up the top
imo

Good to read. Not a referee who always gets good reports so
hopefully things are on the up for him
