Red tinted glasses but I don’t think that’s a clear and obvious
error for the first penalty to sociedad.attacker is
manufacturing the contact.
I also think uniteds penalty is soft but it is a different
onfield decision and when you give the first have to give the
second

I can see why the VAR has intervened for the first penalty. The
more times he watches it the more it’s a penalty. Whether it was
a clear and obvious error is a different thing. From UEFA rules,
probably but only just.
From Bastien’s perspective on the second one, it looks like
virtually the same incident but on the replay I don’t think
that’s a penalty. Didn’t seem as much contact on Hojlund and the
defender looked to get some of the ball. I may be wrong though

I think its the fact that he gave it as a defensive free kick,
that shows that he saw it completely wrong as it was clearly a
foul by de Ligt. Had he not made any decision at all I suspect
VAR would have left it alone.

He’s gone straight through back of holjund to play a little bit
of the ball. I want to know why no VAR review for DOGSO as
holjund has a tap in. I also thought it was a penalty for
sociedas on first viewing, so can’t believe he gave a defensive
free kick!
Last time I saw bastien he gave one of the best European
performances I’d seen but has been poor tonight so far.

I don't think it would be deemed DOGSO as the defender has gone
to play the ball and because it's in the penalty area it would
be deemed double jeopardy.

I don’t really believe that’s a penalty on Dorgu either if I’m
being honest. Momentum from both taking them into each other.
That’s only given because Dorgu gets a touch on the ball.
Doesn’t mean the defender committed a foul

agree if that was given the other side I’d have gone
mad.defender stood ground for me.

I think all the penalties given are fine. I am also fine with
the VAR intervention for the first, I felt it met the threshold
for an OFR. The other two - maybe neither are 100% clear
penalties, VAR might support either way, but no question they
are supportable calls. Now a good decision on the RC for DOGSO.
