Istvan Kovacs - Liverpool v PSG

Not the best performance I’ve seen from him but by no means was
it a poor display. He missed a few free kicks at times but
nothing key in deciding the outcome. Only one yellow card (I
think) which was correct as well. Liverpool fans were
particularly annoyed with him in the 1st half with their being a
few fouls in PSG’s favour but that was arguably just frustration
from where the game was at. Like I said nothing blatantly wrong.
Fully deserved win for PSG. Definitely the better team over the
two legs

I actually think it was an excellent performance.he did let a
lot go but that contributed to a brilliant game.i love how he
has changed his style or can change it now for what the game
needs.

I would largely concur. You could make the argument that it was
a free flowing game thanks to the style he adopted, though, it
didn’t feel to me anyway like his natural style - but that’s
just my personal perception.
On the big picture though - another huge CL KO game he has
delivered without any major controversy, and I think that’s what
will most please UEFA.

I thought he was superb…. These kind of games can be whistled
out which detracts from the occasion and annoy everyone
including the players and the crowd, but he showed a great
balance of when to get involved and when to let things go.
He will be very happy with his performance this evening..

Good solid performance from Kovacs tonight.
One missed free kick on Salah just outside the box, which could
have resulted in a yellow card to the PSG defender.
Wore blue in front of royalty.
PSG deserved to win over both legs.

I'm not a fan of him, but I think he was good tonight and got
most things right. I just think he is very reactive and
aggressive, often unnecessarily so. Started in the first minute
when there was a nothing foul by Jota, yet he raced over to him
and the body language suggested a card would be coming out. It
might be a Romanian way of refereeing, but it comes across as
confrontational.

Fantastic display from Kovacs IMHO. Particularly liked the way
he stood firm in the face of a very hostile, partisan, home
crowd, in the first half especially when they were screaming for
everything, and the Liverpool players were hitting the deck at
the merest of contact. Very strong minded, firm and fair
refereeing.
He may have missed a couple of things overall, but on the whole
I thought he was superb.
