Not the best start from Jones because I think he’s missed a
pretty clear penalty for Leeds around the 10th (ish) minute.
Ball bouncing around and then Ritchie clearly kicks through the
back of James’ ankle. He had a pretty good view of the incident
and think he’ll be disappointed when he sees that back

Poor first half from Jones, definite penalty missed (very
similar to the one we conceded last doors at Brighton
yesterday).
Ritchie was very lucky to avoid a card for a late challenge on
Meslier, and then Poole carded for a less serious challenge.
A wayward first half from Jones.

Shocking decision not to give an early penalty. He had a clear
view. Premiership referees rely too much on VAR and should not
be given games without VAR.

A worrying performance and one that Warnock was very critical
of, especially the non penalty. And I agree with him. Help, I
need therapy. Does VAR give them a comfort zone which is not
there in Championship games and encourages a reluctance to give
fouls? But then, Premiership referees appear to referee games
differently as if to appease stakeholders rather than apply the
LOG.

Slightly off topic, but there was something that did make me
chuckle quite a bit in the game.
When the TV cameras cut to the bench, I couldn’t help but notice
how both managers were wrapped up in their big coats and then I
see Macho Man standing with just a t-shirt with his muscles
beaming in the sunlight…
