Sam Barrott - AFCB vs Wolves (FA Cup)

What went on there is absolute rubbish. 8 minutes for a VAR
check is ridiculous. I feel bad for poor Sam, having to go and
announce to the stadium after that farce. SAT wasn't used in.the
end so I can only guess it had a meltdown.

So they're saying on the Gravity feed commentary that there
wasn't any conclusive evidence regarding the handball, which I
can agree on, however they then started looking at offside, SAT
then wouldn't work, so they had to go back to drawing the lines,
then Sam spent time questioning the VAR so he knew exactly what
to say on the speaker. That's how the guts of the 8 minutes was
       spent.
And, to be fair to Sam, he handled it very well considering the
circumstances, he went over and spoke to the managers+players
and kept everyone informed as much as he could throughout the
stoppage. However I'm sure bmb had a very different experience
       at the ground.

According to the BBC, the semi automated offside system failed
and they had to revert back to the lines and the pins being
dropped, which is why it took and eternity.
One thing which could be implemented if this happens again, or
if there is any other technical VAR issue, is that the referee
is allowed to talk to the stadium announcer and tell him what is
going on, so as to keep the crowd informed (assuming the trial
of referee microphones announcing decisions to the crowd is
       abolished).

Agree with the fans in the stadium: "This is not football."
I have now turned off as cannot be dealing with this anymore

Back to the etch a sketch after the cheap version of automated
       offside fails.
As usual the spectators are left in the dark as to what is
       happening.
Hope we arent going to use this system in the premier league
       this season.

How much do we reckon Cunha is getting for slapping, kicking,
headbutting Kirkez and then refusing to leave the pitch, making
gestures at Rob Jones and pushing security 😂
Very well handled and dealt with in a calm way by Sam I must add

Hope the authorities come down hard on him but dont expect they
will even though its the second time this season he is in
trouble after the league game v Ipswich

I doubt we will see Cunha again in a Wolves shirt this season…
an absolutely disgraceful and petulant act of violence and then
to have the ball to go after the fourth official and the
security staff is a fatal blow to his chances of playing again
       this season…
I hope Wolves do the decent thing, fine him heavily, transfer
list him and send him packing to train alone.

Why did the VAR seemingly spend so long checking for handball?
Surely the offside should have been checked first then handball
       becomes irrelevant??

What an absolute farce! Felt sorry for Sam & team ref though.
First off they did the handball check & to be honest watching
the replay on the big screen we would not have been surprised.
Then when they went to check on the offside SAOT failed, so they
had to draw lines and because of the camera angles and so many
players close together they had difficulty with placing the
lines, then his comms with VAR failed and then finally he was
unable to do the stadium announcement because his microphone
failed! Not a good day for the technology today - perhaps all
the cables had melted in the lovely sunshine that we had! Still
it was the loudest it got during the game as "This is
embarrassing", "It's not football anymore" and "buck VAR" at
least I think it was buck [emoji6] rang around the ground from
both sets of fans!! I was able to wheel along the length of the
platform, through to the lifts, go down a floor and use the
amenities and do the return journey without missing any of the
game so there was a positive in the whole debacle! Sam handled
the failure upon failure very well and one point he did take
both captains over to the tech area and was speaking with them
and the 2 managers, I assume he was explaining to them what was
       going on wrong!
He had a decent enough game, wore blue, dealt with time wasting
by Wolves players with a couple of yellows.
The stuff with Cunya - he'd been asking to come off for about 20
if not 30 mins. Wasn't running, just standing around with his
hands on his hips. There had been some words between him & the
Wolves bench a few mins prior. Head butting, pushing and
throwing a punch at Milos was not the answer though but was the
one he decided to give. Missy bmb could have also earned a red
but contained the very loud, furious cussing to Hungarian so...
It was literally right in front of us and no I was not a happy
chappess. Thought again Sam and Lee handled that and the
resultant handbags very well. Cunya was really going for someone
from the Wolves bench, manager or coach I have no idea, when
refusing to leave, but he was an absolute disgrace. I'd hope to
never see him disgrace a pitch again, anywhere - nasty piece of
       work.
