M OLIVER - Palace v Millwall (FA)

Has to be red for the Millwall keeper Roberts for a nasty
challenge on Mateta.
Very surprised Oliver didn’t blow straight away to stop the
game.
Correct for VAR to come in and send Oliver to the monitor.
Let’s hope Mateta is ok and gets off to hospital pretty
sharpish, and for the Millwall fans to chant “let him die” is
typical of their thuggish and inhumane characters whom support
the club and the club should get punished by the FA
retrospectively.
Disgusting behaviour.

Did the right thing delayed the whistle as Palace were still on
the attack. Don't think Michael could have seen the contact in
real time probably just saw the hight boot. Nick Hopton correct
to intervene

Worst challenge I’ve seen for a while, definitely shouldn’t have
continued play there

Awful challenge - how the referee has managed to deem that a
yellow card is both baffling and disappointing - if that had
occurred in the previous round, without VAR, the GK would still
be on the field of play
Another occasion where VAR has (fortunately) bailed out Michael
Oliver - and some people still think he’s our No 1 referee!

That’s really poor from Oliver and team for me. It’s a clear act
of SFP in real time and it amazes me he has to be sent to the
screen. As for playing on I think it’s equally as poor, it is
irrelevant whether Palace are on the attack or not here. The
game should always be stopped straight away after a challenge
like that. Even if he doesn’t see the contact from the boot
(which would suprise me) the keeper has landed on Mateta’s head
so clearly potential for a serious injury.
Absolutely mindless from the Millwall keeper aswell, Let’s hope
the injury is no to serious and a speedy recovery.
As for the chants of let him die from Millwall fans. What a
lovely example of the beautiful game you all are. Utterly
disgraceful

Awful miss from the onfield officials, perhaps the clearest red
card you’ll see all season. This is exactly what VAR should be
there for, to correct the howlers. Oliver is not having a good
time of it of late. Best wishes to Mateta

How 4 match officials on field have both missed the incident and
then deemed it as a yellow is completely baffling. Terrible from
Oliver and team

I'm wondering if his view was blocked and he's seen the ball
contact and thought its been cleared by the keeper, especially
if he is in line.
