Sheff Wed v Sunderland- Will Finnie

Oh dear he’s surely got to see he’s controlled that with his
hand?? Just seen the Sunderland defender handball it too during
interval. Should have spotted that for a penalty too. Poor
decisions for both.

Yes he was in the very good position to be able to see the hand
ball.

For me, one of those where I don’t actually think it’s really a
clear handball offence cause the arm position is natural and by
his side but the law clearly states the goalscorer cannot
benefit from any touch of the arm in the build up. Therefore,
the goal should be disallowed.

EFL officials seem to struggle to identify these situations.
Have seen three or four similar goals like this allowed this
season. To be fair I’d say Select Group 1 referees often need
VAR to get to the correct decision on such occasions. Not sure
what the problem is.

He's also missed a pretty clear penalty when Hjelde handled the
ball with his arm way above his head. I think he has generally
looked good, but that's two very obvious KMDs incorrect.

Also, very nice from Finnie to stop the game and allow the
minutes applause for the young Sheffield Wednesday fan who
passed away recently. Some things are much bigger than a game of
football.

I doubt he did it off his own back. He’ll have been briefed
ahead of things.

I've not been too impressed but will not complain, sheffield
Wednesday can feel aggrieved that what could have been 2
penalties weren't given, some clear yellow cards ignored as
well.
Good spot on the edge of the box though.

Sorry not impressed is an understatement. To not spot those two
handballs is terrible. Two game changing decisions missed

If the evaluations process works as it should that should
curtail Will Finnie's rise. Two obvious incorrect KMDs should
mean he is looking at a mark of at most 7.5, and that is a
disastrous mark for someone looking to proceed.
I can understand the potential handball penalty being missed,
but someone has to see that Mayenda very clearly handled it
before scoring.
