O'Shea should have had a RC there as he clearly kicked out at
Hojlund. Where was the VAR review yet let alone a tv replay of
the kick? Clear simulation as well pretending he'd been hit in
the face.
When Delap got a YC later on he committed 4 fouls in the same
incident.

I agree, England’s positioning wasn’t terrible at the time of
the incident but perhaps he could have been slightly closer. AR
and in particular the FO should have had a good view. I felt it
was a very obvious red card that, in a world before VAR, would
have been seen as an extremely poor miss on field.

Although I don't always agree with PhiltheRef's comments, I
think this is a very fair point. Yet again, I forgot the 19.30
k.o. times so missed the first half hour. From then on, I felt
it was rather an underwhelming performance from Darren England.
Much as I don't like only one player being punished in an
incident where they were provoked, I also think it's too easy
sometimes to dish out the same sanction to both players when one
was clearly more to blame. It seemed to me that happened last
night. The RC was correct though, albeit after an OFR. It's been
said Darren England remained calm; my impression was he was
trying to look calm but wasn't altogether succeeding at times.
As I say, just an impression.
Incidentally Phil, I know I've not always been complimentary in
the past, but imo Anthony Taylor has been very good in the last
few PL games I've seen him referee.

That's a rather Orwellian statement. He didn't get it spot on
and had to be led to the pitch side monitor where he spent ages
looking at the clip about 10 times when it was blindingly
obvious after one viewing that it was a nasty tackle clearly
worthy of a red card.
That apart, I think he had a reasonably good game, especially in
comparison with Robinson's miserable effort the previous match.
