Would be interesting to know people’s opinions on the 2 red
cards at Crawley today given by James Oldham
The Cambridge one is blatant, awful tackle. I didn’t really see
much in the Crawley red but the Crawley player didn’t seem to
argue much which usually tells a story
Whilst it’s hardly a strangle, he’s definitely got his arms up
at the neck, I think it’s a red card. Agree the Cambridge red is
as clear cut as they come.
I’ll be interested to hear from our Crewe fans with their 3rd
goal looking so far offside! TV cameras don’t show the whole
pitch so easily could be a player hiding somewhere but the fans
in the stand look adamant.

Milton Keynes Dons FC (First Team) v Colchester United FC (First
Team)
Football League 2
Referee: Chilowicz, Alex
Assistant Referee: Cooper, Ian
Assistant Referee: McGrath, Matthew
Fourth Official: Hickman, Andrew
Wasn’t at the game, but from highlights and social media, seemed
a good game from Alex. Two KMI’s correct, a penalty for handball
(correct for me but unlucky, it’s close proximity, but it is
away from the body and takes away our shooting chance) and an
obvious red card for Hendry for a shocking tackle late on

Definitely something in the water this weekend - some awful
tackles, malicious arms and general skull duggery! I don't
remember so many bad tackles in one weekend

International break is around the corner.. perhaps some players
would like a month off and the odd red card here and there
certainly helps!

Wasn’t a bad performance from Scott Tallis and team yesterday at
Chesterfield v Crewe. Chesterfield fans aren’t happy at AR1 for
a potential offside on our 3rd goal. You can’t tell from camera
position. However, 9 mins were added in the second half. Why???
1 injury, 1 goal, and a bunch of subs. I have absolutely no idea
why there was 9. I said 6 and that was at a push. Luckily, it
didn’t hurt Crewe!

Tranmere Rovers FC (First Team) v Port Vale FC (First Team)
Football League 2
Referee: Rock, David
Assistant Referee: Graham, Jacob
Assistant Referee: Edet, Emmanuel
Fourth Official: Speedie, Benjamin
I'm afraid this felt like a reversion to Mr Rock's early days on
the FL list, with a a lack of consistency in his foul detection,
some quite strong challenges and physical contact being waved
on, whereas less forceful interactions resulting in free-kicks.
There was a spell midway through the second half, where it
looked like control was slipping away, although he managed to
re-assert his authority over proceedings. Connor Wood sent of
for two YCs, the first was a stupid tussle over a throw-in given
Vale's way. Having seen the incident for the second YC but at
the game and viewing the footage a couple of times, I'm still
unsure. There is a coming together of the players and a tussle,
where both players appear to make contact with each other, the
Vale player comes off best and then there is further contact
resulting in the Vale payer going to the ground and the second
yellow.
Two other noteable incidents; Rovers defender Turnbull appeared
to pull back an attacker around the edge of the penalty area,
but Mr Rock gave the award in favour of the home side. It was
the opposite side of the pitch to me, but appeared to be a
generous decision from what I could see. Had it gone the other
way, a card of some colour and free-kick likely. There was a
shout for a handball for a Rovers penalty, but it looked like
the power and proximity would have meant it very hard to get out
of the way and looked like the correct call.
The nearside AR (Mr Graham?), having made a couple of good
interventions in the first half, failed to flag for a strongarm
grab on Cameron Norman taking him to the floor. He also had
difficulties with his positioning when Tranmere reverted to
short corners in the second half. causing some delay, which
isn't something I recall seeing often.

Disagree. His game management was poor, the Crewe keeper
extracted the urine un checked for the whole game after Crewe's
first. Adding 3 minutes at H/T was pathetic each goal
celebration took 2+ minutes and then you have the keepers
antics. We guessed overhaul the keeper was in possession of the
ball for over 10 minutes.
A deserved victory but credibility diminished by taking
advantage of Mr Taliis's poor game management.
Could I have your view on the back pass law, mine appears to
differ to MrTalli's.

I can't really comment on this game, having only seen the brief
highlights on TV. I note however a proposal that a corner should
be awarded when a goalie holds on to the ball for an excessive
amount of time and, having seen a number of instances of keepers
holding on to the ball for too long at Crewe, I think this
proposal has merit.
Edit - now raised under General Discussion.

I don’t remember the back pass as such, but I do remember when
it happened. The goal celebrations weren’t 2+ mins. I recorded
the first goal, to when we celebrated and then kicked off. It
was 1 min 10 seconds. X2 = 2mins 20 so 3 mins would be fair.
From a Crewe pov, he was fine but I understand why Chesterfield
would feel aggrieved, especially with our goal keeper. Although,
I don’t think he was that bad and I’ve certainly seen worse
(Carlisle, and Crewe Alex made a Tik tok about it).
Another good win for Crewe and I hope this continues today. Fair
play to Chesterfield for 8000 fans, very impressive for league
two and for a side in the bottom half of the table.
