Ipswich vs Tottenham - Tim Robinson

Robinson's first half has been very very poor. He has argued
with Liam Delap for half of it, his decisions are very delayed.
Decisions are made 10-20 seconds after something happens.
Definitely down the lower end of the SG1 Rankings in quality.
Not the first time this season he has been poor, not very
popular here at Portman Road.

Massive regression from him since last season.

Just to let people know, I do wear glasses in real life and
whether they have a tint of blue on them I’ll let you guys
decide.
This will be the only other paragraph on this post (I’ll do
another one). Steve Meredith was faultless on the line. Couldn’t
give him an ounce of criticism. Good decision to disallow
Ipswich equaliser and was just so good on that line. Simon Long
not quite as active but equally impressive

Tim Robinson (sigh). Third time I’ve seen him this year, third
time I’ve been deeply disappointed.
First half, foul detection was… ok? I’ve seen worse foul
detection from him but he’s just a really fussy referee. As
HChip mentioned, argued with Liam Delap for about 5 minutes
(total) about whether his boot was 1cm over the 18 yard line.
That’s just unnecessary for me. Once again, fussy and strict on
the position of free kicks and didn’t want to let the game flow.
Seemed far too happy to blow his whistle and I don’t think
that’s a good thing. Going into the second half, his performance
arguably regressed. So, so poor from a SG1 ref. Continued to be
fussy and strict on smaller incidents and to be honest his level
of contact allowed seemed to be absolutely nothing by the end.
It’s fair to say that I think both sets of fans were very
unhappy with him at times.
Then two incidents leading up to Spurs goals. For the 3rd Spurs
goal, he stopped play for an injury (fine) but the restart imo
should have been an Ipswich throw. Maybe I couldn’t hear when he
blew the whistle but Maddison was dribbling the ball out and
then was tackled by O’Shea (I think) and the ball went out for a
town throw. Like I said, I was at the opposite end to hear the
whistle but I thought that decision was poor. For the 4th Spurs
goal, he leaves a head injury to Jacob Greaves in the build up.
Spurs scored about 10/12 seconds after this. For me, again you
should always stop play for a head injury cause you cannot tell
the severity of the injury. However he let it go and Spurs
scored again. (I’d like to add that those two goals weren’t just
down to Robinson but some poor defending as well).
Choosing my words carefully, this is not an acceptable standard
of PL reffing in my opinion. I know he’s clearly performed well
in championship and has (in the views of PGMOL) been one of the
best refs in the championship. And even then he had a pretty
good first season IIRC. But the level I’ve seen from him this
year has been sub standard.
I hope I’ve provided a fair argument and one that doesn’t look
like I have heavily blue tinted glasses

Disappointed to read this , had him twice this season in the
championship, best referee by a country mile.

Doesn’t say much for the quality of SG2 officials 😂
