       S A HOOPER - Liverpool v Wolves

I think Hooper has been poor so far, Diaz really should have
been carded for his deliberate pull back (2 attempts) on a
Wolves attack through centre field, which ultimately lead to
Doherty getting a card for gobbing off at the officials.
Some other peculiar calls made, and now the Wolves bench carded
       for dissent.

Liverpool don’t need any help, but they are certainly getting
       it!
Diaz and Gravenberch should have been booked for deliberate
pulls to stop counter attacks, and before the penalty Diaz
       shoved the defender off balance.
A dreadful handball decision given against Wolves when attacking
       as well.

Very poor from Hooper in the first half.
The handball decision against Ait-Nouri was baffling,
MacAliister could have had a card for a late challenge, and Diaz
avoided sanction after a dive when challenged by Agbadou.
He had missed quite a bit and has definitely angered the Wolves
players, with two in the book for gobbing off and waving
       imaginary cards in the air.

I don’t normally like using the word ‘poor’ but I think it sums
up Hooper’s performance rather well that first half.
Cautions have been random really. Diaz should definitely have
seen yellow. Konate arguably lucky to not see second yellow for
his challenge on Cunha. Then plenty of yellows for dissent for
Wolves which could have been avoided if he sanctioned Liverpool
       players correctly
No issues with the penalty. Not enough of a push on the defender
and clear contact from Sa so easy decision.

Sorry but why was Jota not booked for simulation??

Jota has previous for diving and this was horrendous (the kick
to the ribs of the defender as he tried to make the contact
actually injured him and forced him to be subbed).
Absolutely a clear and obvious yellow card.

I would assume that the referee on review felt contact was made
with Jota but just not sufficient to give a penalty thus not
       simulation.

I didn't have a huge issue with the initial award of the penalty
from the way the Wolves defender slid in.
Having seen it on the footage, it's blatant simulation and I was
astonished to see Hooper motion for a drop ball restart on the
       assumption he would be cautioning.

Incident is at 2 minutes. It’s not even close to there being
       contact.

"Then plenty of yellows for dissent for Wolves which could have

Sorry, have to disagree. Yellow cards for dissent can be
avoided by players (and team officials) keeping their opinions
on the referee's performance to themselves.
If it was acceptable to point out when - in one's opinion - a
participant had made a mistake, then the referee would be doing
much more of the talking. As the referee can operate in a high
profile, high-pressure, emotional environment and keep their
opinions to themselves, it is not unreasonable to expect the
       same from the players.
