Not too bad for Karl Buckley replacing Singh Gill as he does
middles in the Cheshire county cup.

Hackett unfortunately has a point with Kavanagh. There is the
possibility of him having to replace the referee from kick off.
It’s not fair on any official physically or mentally, especially
considering, as others have pointed out, that there is travel
and other preparatory tasks to be carried out in between.
We desperately need more SG1 officials or at least more that can
and will be appointed to Prem games. Then there is the factor
that ARing and refereeing in the middle at that level are
entirely different skills.

On another note Richard West was on my side of the ground at the
Newcastle v Fulham game recently and was thinking hes been
around for ages so he must be in his 50s?
Surely him and Cann must be the two oldest SG1 ARs?
He also looked like his shirt was far too tight for him at SJP
recently and he wore yellow

Mark Scholes is probably right up there as well.

I think the existing SG1 Injuries and considering they are
long-term also doesn't help. Paul Tierney & Graham Scott have
been out of action for a while, and a few others are having
occasional injuries. Nobody knows when they will be back to
on-field refereeing, but if they aren't making a return before
the end of the season, we need more SG1 Referees 100%.

Darren Cann is 56, Richard West 49 (50 on Feb 25) and Mark
Scholes, I have no idea. He's been an AR on the FL since 2002.
On the I spy old refs part of the forum it seems to have been
narrowed down to either 44 or 49 in 2020 so 48/49 or 53/54 now!

Suffolk isn’t blessed with airports. The only destination from
England I can see from Stansted(in Essex) is Newquay unless
Michael Oliver travelled via Belfast ! There are also frequent
rail replacement buses in these parts. Oh well, perhaps we will
see more of Tim Robinson before the season is out.

Eaton might be a similar age to them also.

He is Mark Steven Scholes born Q2 1971 in the Salford
Registration District and now living in Buckingham
The other (now discounted) candidate when I looked 5 years ago
was Mark Stephen Scholes born Feb 1976 (Bolton) and now living
in Bournemouth (bmb territory)
