I agree there’s only 3/4 refs that would have been able for the
way this game turned out.i don’t think Oliver was brilliant
tonight but defo was a very tough game to ref

Disgusting scenes at the end. The FA has got to throw the book
at both teams though Liverpool more so than Everton. The game
at the top is getting out of control and impossible to referee.
Maximum fines and penalties must be imposed to stop this sort of
behaviour escalating out of control

There was 13 seconds left when the two Everton players collided
and Michael decides to play a further three minutes.. Incredible
timekeeping...

Regardless of whether he was good or not, he needs time out of
the spotlight as that's 2 much talked about performances in his
last 3 games. As I've put above he made a number of key errors,
so it was not a great performance, however I haven't seen enough
to judge how good/bad he was.

I think this game was a very difficult one to referee, and to a
large extent Oliver was damned if he did, damned if he didn’t.
Both sets of players were hyped from the first minute, and it
was going to prove difficult for him to come out smelling of
roses.
Liverpool fans will complain that there were a few “soft” free
kicks in favour of Everton. Everton fans will complain at least
one Liverpool player should have been sent off. All of it down
to judgement, the main one I would contend would be the free
kick before the opener. But always difficult when every decision
is contested so strongly.
The referee is the sole time keeper but I’m sure Oliver is
wishing he’d blown up a minute earlier… alas then there’s a
controversial goal (I’m not buying a foul personally, so think
it was correct to allow), a pitch invasion, multiple red cards.
All of which down to the players.

I think the added time was correct, however the issue is that
it's very rarely applied in such a strict manner!
It's never a Konate foul for the equaliser.

When I saw Oliver was appointed to this fixture, I had a feeling
he would struggle tonight. It was always going to be a tough
match for any official, but sadly, I think was way off the level
required.
Inconsistent foul detection, playing advantages when there was
not really much to be gained and a few key errors. He commanded
no respect from the players of both sides and I can't really
disagree with comments from the TNT Sports pundits about his
performance tonight.
I would agree with the sending off of Curtis Jones (probably
should have been a straight red card for Violent Conduct). Not
sure what to make on sending Doucoure off - is celebrating to
opposition fans a sanctionable offence? I don't know the
circumstances behind Slot's red card but I suspect Oliver had
lost his head at this point.
I hope Taylor or Brooks are appointed to the fixture at Anfield
- it certainly has the making of another feisty contest.

Personally, thought he did everything he could to let the game
flow as much as possible. People always moan when soft free
kicks are given yet when he lets a bit more go they moan as
well. It’s never a foul on konate in the build up to the goal.
Doucoure and Jones deservedly sent off, both causing a mass con
and Arne Slot would not let go of Oliver after sarcastically
shaking it but must have said something as well to get sent off.
I think a lot of refs in SG1 would have lost control of tonight
but Oliver kept it under wraps for most of the game

Comparable to his performance in the Champions League second leg
when he refereed the second leg of the quarter-final between
Real Madrid and Juventus.
Oliver was out of his depth when he was with Gianluigi Buffon at
the centre of the confrontation, receiving a red card for verbal
abuse.
Some of the comments that suggest he was in control are
laughable.
A very poor night. Many are saying that he was the only official
able to officiate. What does that say about the state of
officiating?

Agree entirely with this, less experienced referees would have
killed the game to make sure they kept control, Michael Oliver
took a risk and in the main it worked. It was a great spectacle
as a game, and perhaps might not have been had a different
referee (or Oliver) strangled the life out of it.
Fans of both teams will feel aggrieved. Everton fans will feel
that Bradley should have had a 2nd caution, but it wasn't SPA as
Beto was going nowhere. Liverpool fans will perhaps feel
aggrieved that Oliver played advantage on an SPA foul by Gueye
which meant he couldn't go back to give him what would have been
his second caution. Lots of debatable decisions during the
game, but that is just football, the vast majority of the
decisions are subjective.
