Was flicking through the scores at HT and saw Crewe were down to
10 men so decided to rewind to the incident on Sky+ and I was a
       little bit confused.
Penalty, yes - I think it’s a clear holding offence and with
what the referee (Andrew Humphries) sees I think he’s always
going to give a penalty (looks like some consultation with the
AR as well). But red card? Is that really a red card? I could
only assume he’s thinking DOGSO with no attempt to play the ball
but my that’s harsh. It’s one of those decisions where you will
only ever see a red card given like 1 in 100. Ryanellis and Acme
Thunderer I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

I’m fuming. Fuming. Penalty yes ok, never a red. Never ever.
I’ve asked several other referees (some who don’t support Crewe)
and they all think it’s a penalty but not a red. You can also
tell by player reaction that it’s not red. I’ve also seen many
Wimbledon fans say a red is extremely harsh. He’s really cost us
the game. Crewe have to appeal it. There’s no point watching
       anymore

I haven't seen the incident, but BBC Football report suggests a
foul, leading to a yellow card and penalty but nothing more. A
game-changer if ever there was one and no wonder you're fuming.

Tranmere Rovers FC (First Team) v Fleetwood Town FC (First Team)

       Football League 2
       Referee: Herczeg, Adam
       Assistant Referee: Bickerdike, Johnathon
       Assistant Referee: Clayton, Samuel
       Fourth Official: Wall, Thomas
While I agree, having seen the footage, of the above criticism
regarding the RC decision in the Wimbledon v Crewe game, things
at Prenton Park were the polar opposite. At times it felt like
Mr Herczeg felt he was officiating in a rugby match. From
initially disregarding any kind of shirt tug, things evolved so
that he was unwilling to intervene when Rovers players were
being held for prolonged periods. Not quite a bear hug, but much
more force applied than just a quick grab of the opponent. There
was one occasion when two Fleetwood players seemed to holding
the same player in clear sight of both Mr Herczeg and the far
side AR, but he allowed play to continue. There was a spell in
the second half, when Rovers were having a number of corners and
there were skirmishes involving the attacking and defending
players, that after a spell of whistle-blowing and lectures, he
took the decision to give free-kicks to the defence every time.
I suspect Mr Humphries and others would have been pointing to
the penalty spot. I had seen Mr Herczeg in the middle for the
Barrow v Rovers game last season, where he was fine, but in a
much less physical match than here. There were positives in
terms of fitness and positioning, but if his tolerance levels
for manhandling opponents are not lowered then there is a risk
that he will lose control of a game. That came close to
       happening in this one.

Based on his recent performance at Altrincham Mr Oldham possibly
       ought to have retired tbh
