AR is also behind the ball, a yard or two behind the play.]

A nice long trip to the south west for Simpson, not sure the
Plymouth fans will be delighted there.

He was fine on his last visit at the end of last season, infact
there are several names I’d be more upset to see. Fingers
crossed he has a good game.
       [/quote]
And in the event he was more than decent.

The AR being behind in the wrong position is the key here. From
his position the offside line will look like it passes through
the nearest defender and straight on to the ball with the
attacker ahead of both. If you know you are behind play you can
make calculations as to where the offside line is but it is
difficult (although the pattern in the grass can help).
Positioning, and therefore fitness and work rate, is everything
       on the line.
