Whilst I haven’t seen all the cohort that was previously in the
National League, Elliot Bell and Farai Hallam have impressed me
and seemingly their bosses as well. I haven’t been as impressed
by Ruebyn Ricardo, but they obviously see a bright future for
him. Judging by mine and others praise for Greg Rollason, he may
be the next one to take the step up to the Championship.

The mere prospect of him was enough, apparently. ;)

With Mr Warne removed pre-match…a decision which is madness in
itself as this could have been done last weekend…it now removes
the added pressure placed on the appointed match officials which
in this case was a young referee from the development group. My
previous post has been taken down which is a bit bemusing on
this friendly site as I merely highlighted that the appointment
of the referee was madness given the fact that anyone who has
officiated at this level and above would understand that the
players attitudes and that of the management team at any club
not doing well and the pressures on the management team would
incur them looking for a scapegoat which ultimately puts the
referee in the firing line. Why would you gamble this by
appointing a young inexperienced at this level referee? I still
maintain the decision taken on Monday to be madness, so people
can disagree or dislike as is their right and opinion but if you
understand top level football then it is those making these
decisions who have to look at the effects long-term of such
appointments on any young referee. I wish Reuben well and my
point is for the protection of ALL development referees.

Norwich Vs Derby is definitely not a good fixture for the
assistant referees, controversy in the first game and even more
       in this game

Really disappointed with a sub-par display from Tom Nield and
team at FP last night. Thought he was unnecessarily petty and
foul detection all over the place. For any dubious call on his
OWN line, Mark Dwyer very rarely flagged. No overall impact in
terms of 'game defining' decisions, but the basics were done
really poorly. If it was a handful of errors I'd say fair
enough, but the whole night was underpinned by bad calls. YC for
Ogilvie late on in the game right in front of the benches,
thought he was lucky not to walk.
