       P BANKES - Arsenal v Man C

       I think Bankes will be very happy with his first big clash in
       the PL and his performance.
       Hasn’t got anything wrong this afternoon and has let the teams
       get on with it, and has managed any needle between Gabriel
       Magalhaes and Haaland.

       Definitely wasn’t as feisty a game as I thought it would be but
       Bankes handled it really really well. Only thing I thought he
       got wrong was he should have given Arsenal a free kick when
       Silva barged into Odegaard but apart from that, excellent. If
       being picky, thought Silva should have picked up a yellow but
       that’s being harsh. Good to see a yellow for dissent from
       Odegaard too.

       I thought both teams kept it within bounds, a bit of an edge
       which Bankes kept under control. I didn't notice him and isn't
       that how it should be? Job done and we'll.

       Very good display, could have cautioned Silva for petulance
       towards the end and also missed a caution for Savinho for waving
       the imaginary card around the time timber saw yellow.
       Bankes and team can be very happy with todays offerings.

       I dipped in and out of watching the game, but he looked really
       comfortable from what I did see.
       Job well done by the 3rd team by the sounds of it.

       credit where credit's due - this was an assured performance by
       peter bankes and team. as a previous poster has said, the ref
       was not really noticed and that must be the highest compliment.

       Bankes was impressive yesterday. I hope this is the start of
       more appointments to "big games" for him and other officials
       that aren't Taylor, Oliver, Kavanagh and Brookes.
