Burnley break 0-0 record.

Another 0-0 for Burnley this weekend and Parkerball is really
beginning to show its true glamour… a fact that our Fulham and
Bournemouth fans on here can easily acquaint themselves to.
The record for 0-0’s in a season was 9 held by Sunderland,
Burnley have already breached that and will beat that in spades
I would have thought come the end of the season.
I feel sorry for the STH’s at Turf Moor watching that rubbish
week in week out!

At which level? Rochdale had eleven 0-0 draws in their 1968/69
promotion season.

I recall WBA who were in the Premiership and managed by Tony
Pulis being a very boring, unexciting side. Little in the way of
attacking football yet each year they held their own and weren't
even close to relegation. It was dire football for the home
supporters and eventually fan pressure got Pulis sacked. The
football became more entertaining but the results were worse and
WBA were relegated. It is a hard balance to get it right when
you want entertaining football and good results.

Conceded 9 goals in 33 Championship games, there have been 6
0-0s and no team has scored more than 1 goal against them.
Wolves scored 2 against them in a cup game!
Impressive figures although I note that Leeds goal difference is
much higher, 47 compared with Burnley's 30 and they, Leeds, have
4 more points with a game in hand. Burnley, for all their
defensive efforts are only in the play offs. 33 draws means 33
points, 33 wins 99 points. You need wins and presently Burnley
aren't getting enough wins to guarantee promotion.
Burnley haven't quite got the balance between attack and defence
right and from what I have seen, and this is subjective,
Sheffield United and Leeds are more entertaining.

Whilst it’s an incredible record, it has been widely posted that
the Burnley fans are getting a little jittery with Parkerball,
and the stale games his style of play he coaches.
Watching Fulham under Parker at times was as dull as dishwater,
and it really didn’t inspire any atmosphere in the ground nor
provide any entertainment.

hi,
wonder what the fan's think now they are top of the table? only
12 goals conceded in 40 league games is a remarkable achievement
at any level. also, i believe they have conceded 2 x penalties
this season - neither of which were scored.
adams/keown/winterburn/dixon are only amateurs by comparison

It probably needs a club with a pragmatic manager to get
promoted to buck the trend of promoted teams going straight back
down. Aside from Luton, who battled hard but ultimately didn't
have enough quality and luck with injuries, the recently
promoted teams have thought they could come up and carry on
playing as they were in the Championship. Which is utterly
ludicrous and they get found out very quickly.
