A MADLEY - Wolves v Villa

I’m very surprised that VAR has not sent Madley to the screen
for the Villa equaliser.
It’s a very soft decision and Villa have every right to be
disappointed with that ruling from Donohue.

Awful decision. That has to be an OFR at the very least. That
same AR got a couple of decisions horribly wrong in the first
half too.

Donohue is still only a SG2 and I think he has been the poorest
VAR this season with some debatable decisions and questionable
calls made from Shockley Park.
This one is the cherry on the icing on the cake for me.

You can see why the referee gave it in real time but with var
that has to be overturned

Terrible decision by Donohue and I hope the VAR discussion is
featured on Webb’s programme next time.

You do have to ask what Rogers was doing, it was a clearly
rehearsed action to prevent the defender from either moving back
towards his own goal or go out to engage the wide player that
the ball was played to. He made physical contact on him so I
can understand why it was given. What I don't understand is why
there wasn't an on-pitch review, as it was very obviously a
subjective decision.

VAR continues to impact negatively too much on the outcome of
games. A clear goal for me, which has denied Villa a deserved
equaliser

Don’t get me wrong I agree with you mostly but on that last
part, surely the VAR doesn’t have to send him to the screen for
an OFR cause it’s subjective. This goes back to what VAR is for.
Even if something is ‘subjective’ it’s still two opinions (or
more) on a decision. Doesn’t matter whether it’s offside or red
card. If Donohue feels that there’s a lack of evidence to
overturn, then he’d agree and say check complete. He wouldn’t
say ‘Mads, that’s a subjective offside. Can you come to the
monitor?’
I don’t necessarily agree it was offside but if Donohue reached
the conclusion there’s no clear and obvious evidence then he’d
just say play on.

Many questionable decisions? I know today’s was a poor one but I
can’t recall many howlers made from Donohue this season. If I’ve
missed some then I’m happy to be corrected
