My thoughts are with david, it must have been and probably still
       is horrendous for him.
I wish him well for the future.

Very strange why he chose to do an "exclusive" with the company
that was the driving force in the media of the stories about him
       in November.
I do feel sorry for him and what he's gone through, however that
does not excuse his actions and words in the professional
working world, ie. his comments about Klopp and drug taking in a
       professional setting.

Refereeing can be a solitary life and the pressure even outside
of the EFL is rising. Questions need to be asked of the support
system in regards to welfare adequacy.

I too would have questions and concerns as to how/why the Sun
       has this exclusive.
I think it is impossible not to feel a great deal of sympathy
for Mr. Coote. Whoever released the videos should feel far far
more shame than he does for what he did in them. While I agree
his dismissal was inevitable, I still think they were very human
follies, no great crime and not damming on his own character. It
is a sad reality that he is probably correct about the
homophobic abuse he would have received had he not his his
       sexuality.
I hope there is a place for Mr. Coote in the refereeing world
somewhere, sometime. I think like everyone he deserves a chance
       at redemption for his career.
Above all I hope he can find some peace and happiness.

His interview is a very difficult watch. I for one am very proud
of him for opening up in the way he has and really hope that it
marks the moment where he can now start to heal.
Sending him much love and healing hugs.
I’d suggest in relation to the media outlet that perhaps it was
a case of addressing the balance?

What comes over to me in the article is a new sense of David
Coote feeling liberated and so if some good may happen as a
result of his unfortunate behaviour and that is a real positive.
It must have been very difficult to conceal something so
integral to one's nature, though his sexuality was not unknown
to some in the game, and so hopefully his openness will help him
considerably wherever his future path lies.
It is strange and concerning that men's football seems to have
such a problem about people being gay, so much so that being
open about sexuality hardly happens and the closet still seems
to be the safest place. I think women's football, where
sexuality, gay or straight, hardly seems to be any issue at all,
has much to teach the men's game. It appears that rugby is also
       more enlightened.

As a gay man myself I certainly struggled with my sexuality in
my late teens and early 20s so I have the upmost sympathy and
empathy for David. As others have said I hope that now he can
try and live his best life and hopefully there is a way back
       into football for him.

Unfortunately football still has a long way to.go and it is
often the "bitchiness" within the confines of dressing rooms
that prevent individuals from being honest. You get grief from
fans anyway; giving them a specific is like changing your hair
       colour!
However, there is no management of comments made by "colleagues"
and this is the area that needs addressing.
