Yes, quite correct AT, and in addition Friend (Man City),
Attwell (Man Utd), Atkinson (Liverpool) and Taylor (Arsenal)
also take charge of the same team inside three games. Surely,
The PGMOL can make a 'better fist' of their appointing criteria
and avoid such duplication !! ::)

Alongside Pawson (Chelsea) and Moss (Man Utd).

They need to learn a lesson from their Scottish
counterparts...Bobby Madden's appointment to this Sunday's Old
Firm is his first Celtic match since.....well, actually since
the last time they played on the 17th March!
I do remember Howard Webb (circa 2005-6) referring Liverpool v
Arsenal and Arsenal v Man Utd in consecutive weeks.
(Edit: I was way out, it was the 07/08 season. He refereed
Liverpool v Arsenal on 28/10/07 (MW 11) and Arsenal v Man Utd on
03/11/07 (MW12).

Terrible appointing! 17 refs available. Even worse for Scotland
there’s only 6 games and there’s 14 refs!

Should we adopt the spanish system where the sort appointmentw
for the season by computer. Perhaps we should do this for
referees role only and ensure the refs get each team a similar
number if times??

I think there has got to be a human element to this so that the
highest profile games go to the top refs, and that up and coming
refs are given games to challenge them eg Kavanagh and the
Mersey derby. I don't actually mind Lee Probert refereeing two
Palace games out of three, he's a good ref and seems to get on
well with the players, wherever he is officiating. I note though
that the Palace do not seem to have crossed paths with Roger
East this season (a good or a bad thing?) and I think Palace v
Huddersfield might have been a good game to 'blood' the likes of
Robert Jones before the key end of season games. And this is
where imo the human element comes in.

Blood a young and inexperienced referee in a game where palace
aren’t safe. Imagine he gives a soft penalty to Huddersfield
that makes palace not win and both Southampton And Burnley both
win. Wrong time for someone such as Robert Jones to be put in.
To me you need a game like Leicester v Bournemouth to get him or
someone else from SG2 in. Or you are very certain that palace
are safe!

What if Lee Probert gives a soft penalty?
